After a bustling “day one” of dialling in the perfect espresso with Johnny Jeon, drinking exquisite latte art poured by Michalis Karagiannis, learning about flow with Danilo Lodi, and drinking cocktails made by our Italian colleague Davide Valenziano… we didn’t think it could get any better.
However, day two is upon us and we are carrying that “live, laugh, drink coffee” energy into our remaining days at the World of Coffee Expo in Athens. It’s impossible not to have a good time here, and to add to our joy we keep running into our fellow Australians in the coffee community. Everyone agrees, Athens has been an amazing experience and the food will be sorely missed when we go home.
While we are sad to hear that Tom Hutchins from Code Black Coffee Roasters will not be going any further in the Brewer’s Cup Championship, we are still watching Jack Simpson closely as we await the result of the World Barista Championship. Whatever the outcome, we will celebrate how far they both came here in Athens in good ol’ Aussie fashion.
