Following the easing of restrictions made by NSW, Queensland, and Victoria, WA is the latest state to drop the proof of vaccination requirement to enter cafes and restaurants, with the WA government making the following announcement on the 26th of April.
"Thanks to the efforts of the WA community, public health and social measures will ease from 12:01am, Friday 29 April, as Western Australia’s soft landing through the Omicron wave has been secured. Based on the latest health advice, WA reached its COVID peak four weeks ago. With hospitalisation rates, intensive care units, and COVID-19 infections lower than anticipated, public health and social measures can safely ease."*
In addition to dropping the proof of vaccination requirement for restaurants, cafes, and businesses, the WA government has also announced that masks will no longer be required except in "high risk settings".
