Hone In on Great Coffee

Nestled along the cozy main street in Balgownie, a suburb of Wollongong, Hone cafe possesses a charming small-town atmosphere yet serves Melbourne-quality coffee. Hone offers classic Aussie favorites like avocado toast and Eggs Bennie, along with a display case full of sweet treats, and of course, truly good coffee.

The cafe brews Delano Specialty Coffee, a local wollongong roaster, serving it out of a Dalla Corte Zero, which sits right at the front of the cafe, a visible invitation to the discerning coffee lover that herein lies excellent coffee. 

We had the pleasure of visiting Hone and were not disappointed. Run by Liam and his wife My My, day to day operations at Hone are held at a high standard. The staff are friendly and attentive, the customers comfortable, and everybody seems to know everybody else. Busy as it was, (and as any great cafe must be) our coffees were delightful. Delano’s Maverick did not disappoint, and the Zero was both beautiful and masterful to watch as coffee after coffee was delivered to the customers eagerly awaiting their morning cup.
