Congratulations Kimi, Winner of The Malaysian Espresso Championship!

The very first Malaysian Espresso Championship flowed flawlessly yesterday at Ghost Bird Coffee Roasters in Kuala Lumpur. Tristan Creswick, the mind behind the Espresso Championship, emceed the event. As in previous instalments of this competition, the Dalla Corte Zero was key to its flow of success.

In the Espresso Championship, using our Digital Flow Regulation technology, baristas compete (knock-out style) to brew the better espresso. Yesterday’s competition saw thirty-two baristas quickly become sixteen, and then eight, and four… until finally only two baristas remained.

Finalists Melissa Soon (Mel) and Nur Hakimi Bt Ibrahim (Kimi) faced one another in the last battle, both having defeated their fair share of highly talented baristas to get to the final round. Ultimately it was Kimi who took the title, the trophy, and the right to represent Malaysia at the World Espresso Championship coming up soon in Busan at World of Coffee.
